Varsity Cheerleaders
All students in grades 4th through 7th will be allowed to “tryout” for the varsity cheer team.
Tryouts will be held in late April. We will begin our first practice in May. We will practice throughout the month of June. We will not have practice in the month of July, but we will have choreography camp that will include a full competition routine and custom licensed custom music. Cost will be $80 - $120 depending on the number of squad members.
Cheer practice will be held on Mondays, from 4-6 at LA Spirit gym located at 5600 Jefferson Hwy. Bldg W2 Ste 260 Harahan, LA 70123.
Our team usually performs at the following school events: Flag Football games, SMA Fair, Boost-A-Thon Pep Rally, Pink Week Pep Rally, Holiday Market, Harahan Christmas Parade, Open House, Souper Bowl Pep Rally, Kindergarten Mardi Gras Parade.
The team will be coached by a professionally trained cheer coach from LA Spirit and Amanda Thibodeaux who has 18 years All-Star and school experience. She has experience as a level 10 competition team member, 5 years of competition Acrobatics, a 5 year Archbishop Rummel High School cheerleader, and currently a charge nurse at Baptist.
Monthly tuition will be directly paid to LA Spirit through a Jack Rabbit account. We plan to attend 4 competitions, each costing approximately $125.00. Our last competition may be in Ft. Walton or Destin. It will require an overnight stay. If you would prefer not to attend, you may be able to send your cheerleader with another family. If you prefer your cheerleader not participate in the overnight competition, we will be able to change the routine if notified 8 weeks before.
We will offer a fundraiser to help defer the cost if enough parents are interested.
