Week of Feb. 1-5: in Google Classroom

Week of Feb. 1-5:

READ ALL DIRECTIONS BELOW. THERE IS NEW INFORMATION.

For your goal in Lexia PowerUp, achieve the goal the program has set for you. On your main page, it will tell you how many minutes you have left for each of the 3 sections. That's your goal. The information should also be on the page where you've been checking your minutes.

ALSO, you will need to gain AT LEAST 10 units by Friday. If you're using your time wisely, this will not be a problem at all. If you're just guessing answers to get the minutes without really trying and getting a lot of them wrong (just because you're not trying), not only will you have a problem gaining the units you need, but you will also EXTEND the goal time that you need to achieve and therefore extend how long you'll be required to work. That's how the program works. Keep that in mind.

For the quiz grade this week on Lexia, I will look not only at your minutes completed but ALSO at whether or not you're gained the necessary units. If you have the minutes but only a couple of units, your grade will absolutely be negatively affected.

When you're finished with your allotted time, read a book. You are REQUIRED to keep a book that you're actively reading with you in your bookbag. That is part of your reading assignment.

Class D Assignment for Week of Sept. 21 in Google Classroom

Class D Assignment for Week of Sept. 21

This week, your goal for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights is to complete 90 minutes of Lexia (cumulative). The percentage of this goal that you complete will count as a homework grade.

If you do an hour and a half on Monday night, do you need to do more on Tuesday and Wednesday? Nope! You just need to have a total of 90 minutes by Wednesday night.

Virtual C Assignment - Week of August 31 in Google Classroom

Virtual C Assignment - Week of August 31

READ ALL DIRECTIONS HERE:

Your assignment this week is to work on Lexia.

YOUR GOAL IS 100 MINUTES. That means, if you do your classwork daily this week, you should have more than enough time to complete your 100 minutes.

You will earn a homework grade this week based on the percentage of your 100 minutes that you complete. For example, if you complete all 100 minutes (or more), then you've completed 100% of your goal. You'll get a 100A+. If you only do 80 minutes, you've completed 80% and earned an 80C, etc.

Make sure you LOG OUT when you're finished each day. If you just click the X in the corner of the screen, it won't save any of your work!

Any questions? Please ask!

Due:

Thursday, Sept. 3 - Vocab. Wkshp. Unit 2 Flashcards in Google Classroom

Thursday, Sept. 3 - Vocab. Wkshp. Unit 2 Flashcards

I have attached a Google Slides flashcard deck of the words you will have next week. Make a copy for yourself, after which you can add more slides/definitions if you'd like.

Your Virtual C Class assignment today is to write one sentence ON LOOSELEAF with each vocabulary word. (Look the definitions up on your computer.) Write your name on your paper. They should all be collected and brought to me at the end of class. Make sure you're using the word properly in a sentence (and that your sentence demonstrates your understanding of the word!) I WILL BE GIVING THIS ASSIGNMENT A QUIZ GRADE.

For example, for the word UNSCATHED, your sentence should be something to the effect of:
"I fell down the stairs but was lucky enough to get up unscathed."
NOT "I was unscathed."

When you finish, work on Lexia if you have time left over.

Assignments for August 10, 11, and 12 in Google Classroom

Assignments for August 10, 11, and 12

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS HERE.

Click on the link below. It will take you to a video - THE PASSWORD IS sma123. It will show you how to log in to the Lexia PowerUp program.

Your homework for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week is to take the beginning diagnostic test on www.LexiaPowerUp.com, which will place you in the correct level in the program. It is NOT for a grade. Please do not ask anyone for help, or it will place you in a higher level of work that will frustrate you. Just do your best all by yourself. I believe it's segmented into 3 parts. Regardless, spend about 20-30 minutes each night (M, T, W) completing the diagnostic test.

You MUST have the diagnostic test completed by Wednesday night.

Do not comment here that you've finished. There's a teacher portal to the Lexia PowerUp program that I use, and it tells me what days you've logged in, when, for how long, and what you've completed. In other words, I will know if you've followed my instructions, right? Yep. Cool.

I will not post a separate assignment for Tuesday and Wednesday because this one covers it all. Yes, you still have this Virtual Class D on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I am going to send you pictures of your login information.
