Dear SMA Grandparent’s Club,

The SMA Grandparent’s Club sponsored the Scholastic Book Fair during the week of August 25-29! Our volunteers did a wonderful job running this event. I would like to have a special shout out to Diane Palmisano for Chairing it!! The Scholastic Book Fair was a HUGE SUCCESS - THANKS TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED IT.

Now on to our next event! The SMA Grandparent’s Club is going to have our Annual Fall Bake Sale. Details below!

The SMA Grandparents Club is having a Bake Sale, Thursday, September 25, for the students. As Chairperson of the Bake Sale Committee, I am calling out for volunteers to donate goodies and/or help with this event. I would like to thank you for your generosity at the May Bake Sale. It was overwhelming! Your support is greatly appreciated.

Please email me at [email protected] if you would like to donate an item and/or help with the sale, and the time you would like to help. We will begin setting up around 10:30. Any baked item is appreciated. If you are providing treats for the bake sale, please make sure that they DO NOT contain nuts or nut products, as some of the students have allergies. Please wrap 2 cookies/brownies/rice krispy treats, etc., in a sealable bag or wrap items in plastic wrap. This will make it easier for those helping with the sale. Cupcakes will be sold individually and will not need to be packaged. The treats will be 50 cents each.

Please bring your baked goodies the morning of the sale, or you can drop them off at my house the day before at 8700 Steamboat Lane, River Ridge (504) 256-9919 or Petie Danton's house at 129 Phyllis Ct., River Ridge (504) 920-9869 or Bridget Impastato's house at 9425 Liberty Ct., River Ridge (504) 228-3289. Also, someone will be available at the front of the school during carpool the morning of the bake sale to accept your treats.

If you will be volunteering to help at the bake sale, please sign-in at the school office that morning. The bake sale will be held from 11:25 - 1:20 during the students' lunch recess. Below is the students' Recess Schedule for those grandparents who would like to be there during their grandchild's recess. See the following lunch schedule:

Pre-K4 and Kindergarten -- 11:25-11:45

Grades 5-7 -- 11:55-12:15

Pre-K3, 1st and 2nd grades -- 12:20-12:40

3rd and 4th grades -- 1:00-1:20
