Olivia Bares
Olivia, a junior at of Archbishop Chapelle, became the first female high school bowler in Louisiana to throw a perfect 300 game in a high school league or LHSAA competition. She also set the state record as recognized by U.S. High School Bowling Foundation for a three game series at 794.
Last year, she had the highest average in the New Orleans area and reached the state singles finals in LHSAA competition.
Sophia Marchan
Sophia, a sophomore at Chapelle, was inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society.

State Rally Literary Event Success
Several former students recently placed at the 2021-2022 State Rally Literary Event:

Dylan Bracey (Jesuit), Annie Carr (St. Mary's Dominican), and Logan Millet (Brother Martin), were all previously named National Merit Semifinalists.

Allison Tullier
Allison, a senior at St. Mary's Dominican, was named to the 2021-2022 Clarion Herald Elite Girls' Basketball Team.
Britney Kelly
Britney was named the 2022 queen of the Krewe of Argus.
She upheld a family tradition as her mother, Neille, and her sister, Brooke, also a St. Matthew alumna, rode as queen in 1996 and 2016, respectively.

Evan was chosen alongside ten other undergraduates from across the United States and United Kingdom to study philosophy and classics at the Pontifica Università

Honored Artwork
Three St. Matthew alumnae recently had their artwork selected to be in the 2022 National Art Honor Society / National Junior Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition.
Out of the 200 works chosen from across the country, three were created by SMA graduates!
All three are students at St. Mary's Dominican High School.

Natalie Bou
Natalie accepted her appointment to the Class of 2025 at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School where she was the winner of the Emerald Award for outstanding performance in Art and Social Studies.
Natalie is also the recipient of the Metropolitan Republican Women's Scholarship for her essay, "Freedom of Speech."
National Latin Exam Success
Three St. Matthew alumni recently achieved extraordinary success on the National Latin Exam.
Archbishop Rummel freshman William Salvaggio (Latin I) earned a Perfect Paper, answering every question correctly.

Dylan Bracey
Jesuit Senior and National Merit Finalist Dylan Bracey helped develop a prototype baby car alarm to help save lives. The alarm earned entry into an international science and engineering competition.
Dylan's mother, Beth Perez Watson, is a St. Matthew alum and also served as Home and School President.
Emma Haley
Emma was named the 2020 - 2021 11th Grade Teacher of the Year at Academy of Our Lady Catholic High School.
Emma, who teaches social studies, just completed her first year as a teacher.
Logan Millet
Logan was named Brother Martin High School's drum major.
He also scored a 35 on the ACT Standardized Test and was named as a candidate for the United States Presidential Scholars Program.

National Champion Cheerleaders
Three former SMA students (from left: Cameron Delaune, Lucia Jouandot, Riley Danos) recently competed for Brother Martin High School at the UCA National Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, FL.
Their team won first place in the Medium Varsity Coed Division, beating eight other teams from across the country.
Aidan Schwarz
Aidan won the Vincent Liberto Award for Instrumental Music at the Underclassmen Major Awards presentation at Jesuit High School. Aidan is a junior who plays both the saxophone and the flute.
William Flores
William was the St. Charles Avenue's Student Activist for the month of June 2021.
William was also named a 2021 Brother Martin Golden Crusader recipient.
He was nominated by faculty as one of thirteen seniors who best exemplified the spirit of Brother Martin by demonstrating strong Christian values, service to others, and a firm commitment to academic excellence.
Additionally, William was named a recipient of Brother Martin's 2021 Judy Stewart Social Justice Award.
