Angela Johnson 1st and 2nd Grade Assistant

I am Angela Johnson. A graduate of Cabrini High School, I later studied at the University of New Orleans, where I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies along with a teaching certificate in elementary education. For several years, I have worked as a substitute teacher at SMA, and this will be my second year assisting in first and second grades. My journey with St. Matthew began back in 2008 when I was a parent. Although I have always loved being in the classroom, my career took a different direction after Hurricane Katrina and the birth of my son. With no school available and a newborn to care for, I made the decision to stay home and raise my children. While I cherish the time spent at home with them, I have always wanted to return to the classroom. I feel grateful and fortunate to remain connected with SMA, even after my children have completed their journeys here. I look forward to the upcoming year and witnessing the growth and learning of the children from the beginning to the end of the school year. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my family and friends.
