St. Matthew the Apostle School is a Roman Catholic parochial elementary school located in River Ridge, Louisiana servicing students from pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade. Formerly of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish of Kenner, Louisiana, the school was established in 1960 to provide a quality, Catholic based education for the children of the growing rural area of unincorporated Jefferson Parish known as “Little Farms.” Since its inception the school has been a vital force in shaping not only River Ridge, but also the surrounding communities helping to develop the gifts and abilities of their children. The Louisiana Department of Education, Archdiocese of New Orleans, as well as SACS/CASI accredit St. Matthew the Apostle. The school also has the distinction of being socially respected, academically outstanding, and deeply rooted in its drive to connect students to their Catholic faith.
